Obama Wire-Tapped Trump Tower

The Obama administration has strongly denied President Donald Trump’s claims that Barack Obama wire-tapped his phones at Trump Tower before the election.

Obama’s spokesman Kevin Lewis released a statement Saturday afternoon refuting Trump’s wire-tapping claims.

‘A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,’ Lewis wrote.

October 2016: FISA request. The Obama administration submits a new, narrow request to the FISA court, now focused on a computer server in Trump Tower suspected of links to Russian banks. No evidence is found — but the wiretaps continue, ostensibly for national security reasons, Andrew McCarthy at National Review later notes. The Obama administration is now monitoring an opposing presidential campaign using the high-tech surveillance powers of the federal intelligence services.

Did NSA Director Mike Rogersthen notify the President-elect he was being monitored by President Obama?

That is tissue-thin indeed. It’s a good example of why investigations properly proceed in secret and are not publicly announced unless and until the government is ready to put its money where its mouth is by charging someone. It’s a good example of why FISA surveillance is done in secret and its results are virtually never publicized — the problem is not just the possibility of tipping off the hostile foreign power; there is also the potential of tainting U.S. persons who may have done nothing wrong.

The idea that FISA could be used against political enemies always seemed far-fetched. Now it might not be.

There’s a little-known federal agency whose job is to ensure U.S. spy agencies protect privacy and other civil liberties even as they work to defeat terrorists and criminals, and to blow the whistle when that doesn’t happen. But the agency, known as the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, is down to just a single voting member — which means it has been stripped of nearly all its powers, according to emails obtained by The Intercept.

Thus, Mr. President, if you are outraged about being monitored and recorded, even when you have done nothing to warrant such surveillance, we have but one question:

What are YOU going to do about it?

This strategy was put into play long before Obama left office. I was told that Obama made certain that key civil service and administrative positions were occupied by “Rules for Radicals” associates.

Many of these radical Deep State associates are people who were embedded into the intelligence services. This is why we are seeing classified information being leaked in an attempt to take down Trump appointees like Flynn and now Attorney General Sessions.

On February 10, 2017, as reported by USA Today, Obama attempted to stack the deck in the Department of Justice: “Seven days before he left office, President Obama changed the order of succession without explanation to remove Boente from the list.
